How early Quakers adapted to thrive - Andy Fincham
10:00-12:00
Venue: Harrogate Meeting House
Historian Dr Andy Fincham, who is a Woodbrooke associate tutor, has received the 2025 Gerald Hodgett Award to encourage wider understanding of the early development of Quakerism. He will outline the origins of the Society of Friends and offer answers to three questions:
How did Friends come together?
Why did they grow?
What can we learn from the Successful Friends?
We will then explore the relevance today of the factors that enabled Quakers to not simply survive, but to thrive. The session will end with a soup lunch.
